BMW has revealed a hardcore, even sportier 2018 BMW M2 version. This limited edition racing model produces more power than the standard car and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds (the standard car does so in 4.5 seconds). It will cost from £ 49,285 when it goes on sale in mid-2018.
Exterior and Interior
While a standard 2 series is attractive, the 2018 BMW M2 is robust. It’s like a series 2 that puts quality gym time. Although both models share the same wheelbase, the 2018 BMW M2 is wider, a little longer and has a more unpleasant appearance with a unique front and rear fascia that expresses the extra muscle of this coupe. From behind, an 2018 BMW M2 can be positively identified by its wider hips and four exhaust outlets. This is a nice little monster, more proportionate than the M version of the old Series 1. Standard emission tires measure 19 inches and are wrapped in high performance tires. Flip down electric mirrors also provide a pleasant touch.
Like a standard 2 series coupe, the 2018 BMW M2 has seating for 4 passengers. The rear seats are more designed to provide additional storage space or for use on fast trips with small, agile passengers. The bucket seats at the front provide excellent support and keep it in place during aggressive driving. Materials such as the carbon fiber rim are a guarantee of quality. The interior and finish of the interior are impressive. On the center panel is a high resolution color display that displays navigation, audio and other information. The well-known BMW iDrive rotary selector under the gear lever controls the on screen action. It now includes a GoPro application to register your units. The gear selector for automatic transmission models can be confusing at first, an additional reason to do it correctly and to use it with a manual.
The heart of the 2018 BMW M2 is a 3.0 liter inline 6 liter turbocharger with direct injection, variable camshaft timing and variable valve lift control for 365 horsepower. The output torque is rich at 343 lb-ft, and an acceleration feature allows you to briefly increase this torque to 369 lb-ft. These figures allow 2018 BMW M2 to reach the benchmark of 0 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. All 2018 BMW M2 are propulsion. A 6 speed manual transmission is the standard gearbox (and our recommendation), and a 7 speed automatic dual clutch transmission is an option. An automatic engine start/stop system cuts energy at traffic lights to save fuel, but can be turned off if starts are too abrupt. As we have already noted, the 2018 BMW M2 has already been previewed and will include a new engine generating 405 horsepower and allowing the new 2018 BMW M2 to reach 60 mph in four seconds.
