2019 BMW X7 Fourth Generation Charger Gray Door

Review

The 2019 BMW X7 is a brand new model, the first seven passenger SUV from this German luxury car manufacturer. As a new model, the 2019 BMW X7 joins six other BMW commercial vehicles numbered from X1 to X6. It allows BMW to meet virtually every aspect of the luxury commercial vehicle market.

Exterior and Interior

It is not surprising that the 2019 BMW X7 borrows many design elements from the X5. However, the 2019 BMW X7 has many features that set it apart and you do not even have to look closely to find it. In addition, it has a slightly different shape. Because it’s higher, it seems a bit narrower. When they head for the headlights, they are equipped with the same LED design as the X5, but the overall shape is different. Not only are they thinner, but they are also inserted as part of the kidney grid, giving the front fascia a broader appearance. The bumper is really massive and has great points of sale in the bends. A thinner entry passes just above the apron, complemented by a chrome casing that climbs into the side slots. Indeed, its thicker side skirts are equipped with steps that resemble those of trucks, while the belt line is simple and it barely lifts. Combined with higher side windows and large mirrored planes, the frames give the 2019 BMW X7’s profile a massive appearance. The 2019 BMW X7 also has longer rear doors, a design that facilitates the entry and exit of second and third row passengers. The rear section also differs from the X5. While I expect a larger SUV to have bigger taillights, it’s actually the opposite. Like the headlights, the taillights are thinner and do not extend to the wings. The rear is carefully divided into horizontal lines, including the chrome rim between the taillights, the double tailgate and the solid bumper. The tailgate looks a lot like the X5, but the remaining rear fairing has a simpler and more utilitarian design. Naturally, the 2019 BMW X7 moves on big wheels, with a list of options including rims up to 22 inches in diameter. Adaptive integral LED lamps with automatic high beams are included in standard equipment, but you can get new laser lamps by choosing the Business Group. The color palette includes six tones in the pitch. There are non metallic white alpine paints and carbon black metal packs with M Sport Package, Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Arctic Gray and Vermont Bronze. Three other colors will be introduced from April 2019, including jet black, dark graphite and phytonic blue. If you’re wondering how big the 2019 BMW X7 is, it’s 203.3 inches long. It also measures 78.7 inches in width and 71.1 inches in height, while the wheelbase measures 122.2 inches. Interestingly, the flagship SUV is actually 0.2 inches narrower than its younger brother. Its wheelbase, on the other hand, is five inches longer.

It’s a little disappointing in my book, but the fact that the X5 was recently redesigned saved the day. Fortunately, the entire cabin looks modern, starting with the clean structures of the dashboard and the fluidity of its insertion into the door panels. Galvanized accents give the board an exquisite look. The center console is also identical to the X5. IDrive controller, newly designed gear selector, on / off button, driver control switches, electronic parking brake switch and air suspension controls and optional all terrain modes They are grouped here in a modern way. Like the X5, the 2019 BMW X7 is packed with noble materials, even in the least expensive finish. The xDrive40i, for example, comes standard with Black SensaTec or a choice of nine premium Vernasca and Extended Merino Leathers. The most expensive xDrive50i features a standard vernasca leather interior in black, canberra beige, coffee or cognac, with the option of upgrading to an extended merino leather interior in black, ivory white, coffee or tartufo. If you pay extra, you can specify a Merino leather interior in two shades, ivory white / navy blue, with a navy leather dashboard and a navy Alcantara roof, if you pay extra. You can also enhance the cab with options such as a leather dashboard, glass controls for the on / off button, a shift lever, an iDrive controller, and a radio volume control, plus ‘a panoramic roof LED Sky Lounge. Basically, it shows a sky lit by the stars, just like the Phantom Rolls Royce. Since Rolls Royce belongs to the BMW group, I would not be surprised if the Germans borrow the technology from the British firm. BMW also offers a cold climate package featuring a five zone automatic climate control system, heated front and rear seats, heated armrests and a steering wheel in the front. Buy the Premium Pack and you’ll get self closing doors, electric side window blinds, heated and cooled cup holders, a front facing screen and gesture control. The remote engine start function is also optional. Speaking of which, the 2019 BMW X7 has been designed to carry up to seven people. If you want more comfort for your second row passengers, you can go with the captain’s optional seats for that area. This reduces the transport capacity to six people, but those sitting in the second row will benefit from the same range of adjustments as the front seats. They also have built in armrests and comfort cushions. For added convenience, the second row seats slide forward and backward by 5.7 inches, while the second and third row seatbacks can be folded and raised electrically. This can be done from the inside of the vehicle or the cargo area. This increases to a maximum of 90.4 cubic feet when the rear seat of the second standard row and the seats of the third row are folded flat. How does he compare to his main rivals? Well, it certainly exceeds the old Mercedes Benz GLS, which offers only 24 cubic feet with the third row folded flat and 81.2 cubic feet when the second row touches the ground. However, it is not as spacious as the Cadillac Escalade, which measures 51.6 and 94.2 cubic feet respectively. The loading of objects in the trunk is facilitated thanks to the standard air suspension which makes it possible to lower the vehicle. The tailgate divided into two parts with electric opening will also help you avoid back pain when lifting heavy bags.

Engine

It will take 5.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h with this SUV, which is not bad considering the size and the empty weight. The maximum speed is 152 mph. Do you need more power? This goes for the xDrive50i variant. As you may have guessed, this SUV hides a 4.4 liter, four turbo V-8 under the hood. The engine has new hot plates, a revised ignition system and an automatic start/stop feature, and generates 456 horsepower and 479 lb/ft of torque. By pressing the accelerator pedal, you will go from zero to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to the family mark of 155 mph. In Europe, BMW also offers a pair of diesel engines. The base model is called xDrive30d and extracts the juice from a 3.0 liter six cylinder engine generating 261 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. It takes seven seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h and reach a top speed of 140 km / h. The second diesel powered model, the M50d, has the same engine under the hood, but with improved internal components and more power. This version offers 394 horsepower and 561 lb/ft of spin and reduces speed from 0 to 100 km/h at just 5.4 clicks. The M50d will not stop until it reaches a top speed of 155mph. The gearbox has a wider distribution ratio and new control electronics on the 2019 BMW X7, primarily to improve efficiency. In addition, the new torsion dampers reduce the rotational forces and slipping of the converter to improve the comfort of the change. Transmission works in conjunction with the intelligent connectivity of the vehicle to tailor its shift strategy to the route and driving situation. When working with the navigation system, you “see” the road in front of you and combine that data with the radar sensor information of the active cruise control system. When approaching a vehicle that is ahead or a downhill section, the transmission will downshift before using the engine brake to maintain speed or slow down. All power is transmitted to the wheels through the latest BMW generation of the xDrive AWD system. Now you can spread the torque between the front and rear axles with greater precision and speed. You can also direct all power to the rear wheels when AWD is not needed.
