2019 Ford Focus RS is expected to be the third generation of this model, but only for the European market. As we know, US buyers did not get their three versions of Focus from 1999 to 2011, when the automaker made these two markets equal in terms of car versions. So even though there were three versions of this car, we did not see them in the United States. Now, it’s hard to say exactly what Ford will change in this model and the spy photos we’ve seen promise obvious design changes. However, the manufacturer had to make these changes more competitive and closer to cars in the category, such as Chevrolet Cruise, Mazda 3 and Honda Civic.
Exterior and Interior
The outgoing 2019 Ford Focus RS is a tough sedan style, but I’m sure Ford will be able to find a more aggressive version for the next generation. The new Focus is sportier than ever and I’ve already seen some design clues that will work well with 2019 Ford Focus RS specific features. The more muscular bonnet, the reinforced mudguards and the sharper headlights already make the Focus almost as sporty as the ST model. When these 2019 Ford Focus RS features are added, the Focus will become almost as aggressive as a rally car. Speaking of which, even though we still have to see spy photos of the new 2019 Ford Focus RS, this representation of X-Tomi Design shows what kind of updates we should expect from abroad. Like the previous model, you will get a new bumper with larger vents. The side cylinders will feature large black glasses and extended cooling ducts, as well as new rectangular LED daytime running lights. The opaque central input of the standard Focus will be replaced by a larger trapezoidal opening with horizontal bars. Below, a larger divider should help improve aerodynamics. The grid will retain the shape and size of the standard Focus, but the honeycomb mesh will be removed for a black panel that will cover more than half of the opening. Finally, the engine hood will have additional vents for better cooling. Most of the profile will remain unchanged, but the reduced ride height, sportier side skirts and custom wheels wrapped in low profile wheels will make all the difference. The sedan will also receive a black window sill and black mirror caps, which may be carbon fiber. The blue “RS” badges on the blue wheels and calipers must complete the design. The representation does not include a rear view, but it’s quite obvious that Ford will change both the roof spoiler and the bumper for the 2019 Ford Focus RS model. The first will grow and will have a more aggressive form to improve the support force. The bumper will probably have air vents instead of red lights on the sides, while the center section will be carved to make room for a large diffuser. With the diffuser, Ford will add two big exhaust pipes. As usual, the tailgate will receive an “RS” badge.
The “RS” badge will bring a lot of race inspired candies inside the cabin, but the hatch will remain heavily based on the regular model. Therefore, look for the same design features, a wider feel as the dashboard is further away from the seats, a large center console with less footprint and a great infotainment system at the top. The unique features of this model should include a flat bottomed steering wheel with revised controls, “RS” badges and, most importantly, recaro designed shell seats wrapped in microfiber. However, seats with race specifications are likely to be optional because the standard units are similar to those you can get in Focus ST. The 2019 Ford Focus RS will also be equipped with alloy sport pedals, a new shifter, and perhaps an additional set of instruments for boost pressure, oil temperature, and oil pressure. as in the outgoing model. Speaking of screens, the infotainment screen should have a new boot image, as well as additional applications. The instrument cluster should also have a unique look with red dials, “RS” letters, additional graphics. Although designed for pilots who like runway actions from time to time, the 2019 Ford Focus RS will have all the practical features available with the standard model. SYNC connectivity will be standard, as will the audio system, navigation, climate control and capacity of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SYNC system must also have the “Find a race track” application that provides information on the nearest public circuit. Plus, you need to have a performance app that records lap times and how the car behaves on the track.
Unlike its predecessor, which uses only a gasoline engine, the new generation of 2019 Ford Focus RS will be equipped with a fluid hybrid system. The information is not yet official, but it’s no longer a mystery that Ford wants to electrify its performance cars and the rumor already includes a series of data that make sense. Although there is no information on the gasoline engine that will be hidden under the hood, the 2019 Ford Focus RS will come up with “a set of smooth 48V hybrid technologies that the company introduces by its global automobiles,” according to Autocar. The new technology is expected to improve acceleration times and driving characteristics, but the most important is to reduce CO2 emissions to levels that allow the car to comply with new regulations. The 2019 Ford Focus RS output emits 175 grams per km, while the 2021 regulations require carmakers to produce an average of 95 grams per kilogram by 2021. With this 48V technology, there are no words Ford engine can use, but the sedan could get a revised version of the 2.3 liter EcoBoost. According to rumors, the turbocharged four cylinder engine should be updated to work with the fluid hybrid system. According to rumors, production would reach 400 horsepower and 425 pound feet of torque, an increase of 50 horsepower and 75 lb-ft compared to the outgoing American model. UU Compared to the European version, you get 55 extra horsepower and 101 lb/ft. The 2019 Ford Focus RS will continue to use an all wheel drive system, but the unit will be updated for the new car platform. We hope you can always send up to 70% of the available torque for the rear axle. The improved rear powertrain will likely consist of two electronically controlled clutches that also act as a limited slip differential. In terms of performance, the sprint from 0 to 60 mph should decrease considerably with the most powerful engine. With the current model capable of reaching 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, the new generation of sedan should be able to arrive in 4.3 seconds or even faster. The maximum speed could increase slightly from 165 mph currently to about 170 mph or more.
